Placing your order

 

We have tried to make it as easy as possible for you to navigate our site to find the product you are looking for.

 

You can search by product code / product description / keywords / abbreviated words or codes by entering the information in to the keyword catalogue code search box in the top centre of the home page.

 

Alternatively you can click on the catalogue buttons to get a drop down detail menu of the category selected. You can then narrow your search by type and brand. This is especially useful if you want to start the search by Mens or Womens.

 

Browse our catalogue, and click on any items that you wish to buy and place them into the shopping cart. When you have finished your shopping, click on "Checkout" and you will be requested to input some details that we need to be able to process the order. Please note, once you click the Make the Order button, you can not return to your order to make any further amendments, and you will be directed to the Secure Payment screen to take your payment.

 

Promotional Offer Voucher Coupons

 

Promotional offer voucher codes can be redeemed online at the point of sale by entering the promotional code and clicking on the add a coupon button in the basket . There is no cash equivalent. Order value must be greater than voucher value or the transaction will be voided. Promotional codes MUST be input when you make the purchase and can not be applied retrospectively.

 

Stock

 

In the event that we find we are out of stock of the product which has been ordered, we will contact you to offer a suitable alternative or a refund in full.

Sizes shown for all our products are UK sizes.

Shoe size guidance charts are available for most products by clicking on the Size charts link on each product page.

 

Free Product Offers

 

If we offer Free Product where the customer has the option of choice, these choices MUST be selected at the appropriate point during the purchase process. We can not add, change or amend free product retrospectively. If you return an item that was associated with a free product for refund or exchange, then the free product must be returned also to avoid the retail cost being deducted off your refund.

 

Half Price / 50% off offers

 

Half Price / 50% off offers are based on Recommended Retail Price (RRP).

 

Price Matching

 

We will price match any genuine online retailer advertised price at the point of sale. Match must be verified as exact like for like which includes item code, exact size available, delivery times & delivery charges. We do not price match free gifts or promotional voucher discounts. We do not retrospectively pricematch.


Packaging / Delivery Charges & Times

 

Packaging & Delivery charges are calculated at the check-out.

 

For UK Mainland we offer two options for delivery.

 

Standard delivery is 5-7 working days .In most instances the charge for clothing is £2.95 and for shoes is £4.95 . Standard delivery is normally by Royal Mail 1st Class Post. If the Royal Mail can not deliver they will card you with details of the neighbour or the local sorting office that the parcel has been taken to for collection by you. During delivery service provider industrial disputes we will not accept any responsibility for extended delays in delivery of your parcel.

 

Express delivery is 2 working days. In most instances the charge for courier delivery is £6.95. Courier delivery is by signed for courier or Royal Mail signed for.

 

You can leave special delivery comments (max 30 characters) in the comments box. We will always try our best to accommodate these requests, but unfortunately they can not be guaranteed as it depends on the carrier. Requests to leave parcels unsigned for, are at the customers own risk and Start Fitness will not accept responsibility if this is the case.

 

Express deliveries require a signature, so some one must be available to accept delivery. Delivery can be any time between 8.00am and 6pm. If no one is there to accept delivery the courier may, at their discretion, leave with a neighbour or return to the depot, and card you with details of where your parcel has been left, or how to arrange for re delivery / collection from the depot.

 

For Countries outside the UK we will only deliver to an address that is in the same country as the billing address

 

For European Countries - Royal Mail International Signed For (Insurance Included).

 

Delivery time is 7 - 14 working days. Packaging & Delivery charges are calculated by weight at the check-out

 

Delivery outside Mainland Europe for large items such as cycles, wheels etc ( greater than 60cm in length , or length + width + height greater than 90cm ) will be subject to a carriage surcharge. Please ring or email for a quote or alternatively we will contact you once you have placed your order.

 

For your peace of mind you will be sent an automated e mail to confirm that your order has been dispatched. Please allow the full delivery time you selected for delivery for the arrival of your goods, before you advise us of non delivery.

 

Customs Charges

 

Shipments sent outside the European Union are sold exclusive of VAT and may be subject to import duties and taxes, which may be levied once a shipment reaches your country.

 

We are required by law to declare the full value of the goods (not including shipping charges) on all packages destined outside the European Union, and shipments may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country, for which you the customer is responsible for paying.

 

For details of Customs charges please consult your own Customs authorities for the latest rates.

 

It is the customers responsibility to accept that these local duties and taxes may be due prior to placing your order as we can not reimburse any costs incurred regardless of the circumstances.

 

Tracking Your Order

 

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email to confirm your order details. This e mail is sent from an automatic source, so please do not reply to the e mail as it will not be read.

 

You can track the progress of your order by logging in to your account on our website.

 

You will receive a confirmation of dispatch e mail when your order is dispatched.


WEEE Compliance

 

UK households dispose of over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical and electronic waste every year. This is the equivalent of 150,000 double-decker buses and would be enough to fill the new Wembley Stadium 6 times over.

 

Much of the UK’s electronic waste ends up in landfill sites, where toxins put communities at risk. Failure to segregate any type of recyclable material in the home will usually result in items being disposed of in a landfill site (buried in the ground in the UK) where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

 

To remind you to recycle, all new electrical products are marked with a crossed out wheeled bin symbol.

 

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

 

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

 

Sportswear Supermarket is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when you buy from us a new Electrical or Electronic product.

 

For example, if a customer bought a new stopwatch/pedometer from us we would accept their old stopwatch/pedometer and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely at WREL Bedlington.

 

Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, schools or libraries may also set up collection points. End users may find stores in their local area more accessible.

 

Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.

 

Your Rights to Cancel

 

We fully comply with Distance Selling Regulations

 

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, if you buy online or by phone, your consumer rights entitle you to a full refund if you request one in writing within 7 working days of receipt, This includes any carriage charge at the time you placed the order, but excludes the products listed as exceptions below

 

- personalised or made-to-measure products
- perishable goods
- unsealed CDs, DVDs, tapes or other recording media, software or video

 

If you wish to cancel, you must inform us in writing, quoting your order number, within 7 working days following the day you received the goods and you must also take reasonable care of the goods. What do we mean by reasonable care? We would consider that reasonable care has not been taken of the goods, for instance, if you have used them to an extent beyond what would be reasonable if examining them in a shop before purchase.

 

If you cancel an order we will require that you return the goods complete with all undamaged packaging to us in good time, with the original packaging and at your own expense. We will refund within 30 days of notification of cancellation once we have received the returned goods.
